I was born in Toronto and raised in Northbrook, Ontario, a small town south of Bon Echo Provincial Park. I moved to the Peel Region in the mid 1980’s to apprentice as a High Voltage Powerlineman and I continue to work in the trade for Hydro One. I live in Oakville with my wife and three children who are being raised to recognize their Métis Heritage and Culture with honour and dignity. My goal is to achieve recognition and respect for Métis rights, identity and culture not just for the Credit River Area but for the Nation. If you have questions about self-identification, acquiring citizenship, any questions, comments or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact myself or Council.

I learned about my Metis heritage when my Mother showed me her childhood keepsakes which included a birchbark basket, deerskin baby moccasins, rattle and beaded necklace. A relative sent me a genealogy family tree which traced my relations from Denmark who migrated to the Orkney islands in Scotland and in 1765 joined the HBC to travel to Moose Factory, Fort Albany, Isle a la Crosse and Fort Qu’Appelle for fur trade expeditions. I have spent several years studying Metis and Cree/Ojibwe culture, history, spiritual beliefs and natural medicine.
